Preachers provide spiritual leadership to the religious community. Ministering takes many different forms, from officiating over regular Sunday services, weddings, baptisms, funerals, high days and holy days to visiting the sick and providing counselling services.

A Preacher is a leader, bearing the vision of faith for a community and also serves as a teacher and comforter. A theological degree is advisable and one must sense a calling. This means one feels compelled to do God’s work, making sacrifices in the service of humanity. One needs a capacity for leadership and humility and an ability to relate to people, showing tolerance, compassion and empathy. A Preacher needs to have excellent listening skills. Each day is different, yet each one brings the challenge of meeting people’s needs.
