Cabin Attendants are responsible for the safety of airline passengers from time they board the aircraft until they disembark at their destination. They also act as the airlines hosts to the passengers and ensure their comfort. After reporting for duty, Cabin Attendants are briefed on expected weather conditions on route as well as special passenger requirements and other relevant matters.

They ensure that the passenger cabin is in order and that the supplies of food, beverages, blankets and reading material are adequate. They check that first aid kids and other emergency equipment are on board and are working. When passengers come aboard Attendants greet them, check their tickets and assist them in finding their seats. Before take-off Attendants instruct passengers on safety procedures. In the air they assist passengers, answer questions and help care for children, the elderly or disabled people.

Attendants also serve cocktails and other refreshments. On longer flights they heat and distribute pre-cooked meals to passengers.
