Travel Agents are professionals who handle travel arrangement on behalf of other people. They are employed by travel agencies who might have branches throughout the country or world.

Travel Agents advise clients on all aspects of their proposed journey. They assist travellers in planning an itinerary, which suits both the individual’s preferences and budget. They make recommendations on the strength of their own experience or knowledge. They also advices travellers on aspects such as the exchange rate of money, traveller’s cheques, passport, visa and health requirements. They sometimes assist people in obtaining visas.

Once the itinerary has been finalised, the Travel Agent makes all reservations on behalf of the client. This can include air or rail bookings, hotel and game park reservations or car hire for local travel. In case of visits abroad the Travel Agent books accommodation as well as air, rail, coach or sea travel, tours, cruises, and car hire. He or she issues air tickets, accommodation and travel vouchers to travellers.
