Transport Clerks are responsible for the administration of the transport at businesses, government and other institutions.

Transport Clerks receive and process requests for transportation, for example pick-ups at the airport, courier services or inter-departmental transport. Requests may come from other employees inside the business, salespeople or clients outside the business. It is the responsibility of the Transport Clerk to ensure that transport is at the right delivery or pick-up address at the specified time.

The Transport Clerk also books out vehicles to company employees who require transport for working purposes and who are allowed to drive company vehicles.

He or she ensures that vehicles are not damaged upon return and that logbooks are properly completed. It is also part of the duties of Transport Clerk to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and serviced at the specified intervals.
