A Singer has an exceptional singing ability and sing solo, in music groups, choirs, musical comedies or opera.

 One has to spend a great deal of time practicing your voice and music. The singer practices alone or with other people in a group or choir. The singer must interpret the meaning of the words and give the right emotional value to the song. This is done by using the appropriate rhythm and tempo or through body movement and facial expression. Dancing, playing a musical instrument and acting are part of the singer’s training and a good singer is often a fully-fledged actor and musician.

If a singer performs with group or choir his or her voice must blend in with the rest of the artists. It is important to watch the Choirmaster, Conductor or Accompanist so that the whole choir or group performs any change to tempo, volume or rhythm at the same time.

In addition to public appearances on stage, Singers must often perform in recording studios.
