Being a Politician is probably one of the most powerful careers you can wish for as Politicians determine the general rules that give order to our society.
In a democracy Politicians represent political parties or interest groups in the national assembly, provincial legislation or local authorities. They attend meetings on a regular basis. In these meetings legislation or by-laws are discussed and put to the vote if necessary. Politicians have to do a lot of research on new legislations in order to make informed decisions. They also serve on committees and study groups such as the parliamentary committees on defence, finance, etc. During elections Politicians make speeches and canvas support.
Successful Politicians are normally dynamic leaders. They understand the communities they live in and have the desire to serve the community. Most Politicians have specific areas in which they specialise such as economics, education, health and others. They serve the community with their knowledge in their areas.
