Health Inspectors are the guardians of the public’s health and safety. They are respected for their efforts to minimise health threats to the community. One of the most important duties of the health Inspector is to inspect all kinds of kitchens that supply food to the public – private as well as commercial. The Health Inspector will ensure that food is factories, food stores, guest houses, hotels, restaurants, hospitals. Old age homes and boarding schools is stored and prepared hygienically. If these places were unhygienic, the Health Inspector will close them down for health reasons. He or She will also inspect premises for unwanted insects or animal life.

As with many careers, a certain amount of paperwork needs to be done by Health Inspector. He or she may spend part of their working hours in an office dealing with correspondence and general office duties. Recording statistics, inspecting building plans and issuing health certificates are also part of the Health inspector’s responsibilities.

The Health Inspector also advices businesses, institutions and government department on health issues and regulations.
