Estate Agents provide an essential service in finding and bringing together the sellers and buyers of all types of immovable property, including houses, town houses, flats, farms, factories, shops and offices.

The work of the Estate Agent begins with a mandate from the seller of a property. The Estate Agent advertises the property, pointing out the merits or strong selling features such a location, quality or price. When prospective buyers respond to the advertisement, the Estate Agent will show them the property.

The Estate Agent acts as negotiator between seller and buyer with regards to issues such as price, date of occupation and conditions of sale. The deal is concluded when the buyer signs a written offer to purchase or a contract of sale and the seller accepts the offer. This contract will be submitted to an attorney who will attend to the legal aspects of the sale. When the property is registered in the name of the buyer, the Estate Agent receives a commission.
