With jobs becoming a very scarce commodity in South Africa, more and more people have to rely on their own initiative and entrepreneurial skills for an income. Some of them become very successful businessmen.
An innovative mind is the tool most needed to create financial gain from new ideas, improvements on old ideas, problem solving or inventions. People who have started a business when still in school often continue to make money by their own efforts when they leave school. An Entrepreneur must be prepared to work hard and make difficult decisions. The rewards for all the hard work can be great-independence, financial gain, security and no bosses looking over your shoulder.
The first priority of the would-be Entrepreneur is to list the things that he or she is good at. This can be things such as sewing, wood craft, selling, babysitting, mechanical or electrical repairs, gardening, cleaning windows or houses, making toys or jewellery, or manufacturing anything that people need and will buy. The ideal business would be one that the Entrepreneur enjoys doing.
