Dispatchers are responsible for designing dispatching stock to clients according to instructions. They ensure that articles are addressed to and arrive at the right address.
Major part of the Dispatcher’s responsibility is to ensure that stock is properly controlled before being dispatched. This is very important as a large percentage of most companies’ money is invested in stock. Dispatchers are thus responsible for storing and distributing the organization’s production material.
They do bookkeeping of accounts and exercise financial control of budgets. They are responsible for the safety and security of the inventory as well as maintaining communication between storing and dispatcher areas and departments such as Production, engineering, Quality Control, Purchasing and sales. They check all deliveries and return defective stock.
