Copywriter are normally employed by advertising agencies. They are people who, through their writing, can persuade a defined group of consumers to buy a certain product or service.

Copywriters normally work of a written brief, which gives information about the type of people to whom the advertisement must appeal. The brief also tells the Copywriter more about the product and its relative advantages compared to other competitors in the market.

 Copywriter do not work alone. They work in a creative team with an Art Director and Artists. The team is responsible to crack an idea for an advertisement. The Director and Artists take responsibilities for the visual treatment of the advertisement, while the Copywriter writes the headlines and body copy of the advertisement.

Copywriter do not only write copy for printed advertisements and brochures, but also for radio and television advertisement.
