Computer Security Specialists normally work for large companies and institutions, using extensive computer networks and systems. They plan and introduce strategies and measures to protect companies’ information and technology from unauthorised access by staff and outsiders. Computer criminals often try illegally obtain access to companies’ bank accounts or other valuate confidential information regarding the companies’ operations. 

Specialists install specially designed software that protects the information. If the data are available to people over the internet, Specialists may build firewalls. These electronic “Walls” prevent people outside an organization from accessing information. They may also encrypt information so that it remains confidential.

Specialists also install, monitor and regularly update advanced anti-virus software to counter any treats by dangerous computer viruses.
