An Auctioneer sells goods by auction to the highest bidder. The Auctioneer acts as go-between for the seller and buyer. Almost anything can be sold by auction including fixed property, cattle, furniture, antiques, works of art, cars etc. The articles are numbered and put on display before the auction. Pamphlets with more information on the articles to be sold are available to all interested parties.

A person who wants to bid on an item must register at the Auctioneer. Buyers sometimes get a number to bid with or in other cases simply raise their hands to indicate that they are bidding. The Auctioneer introduces each item individually to the prospective buyers. He also points out the good and bad qualities of every item.

The Auctioneer sells that the articles to the highest bidder, after the auction bidders pay for their sales. The money is paid into a trust account. Once the sales are processed the Auctioneer receives his commission, the balance is paid to the seller.
